Transform Athlete Recovery with Ischemic Conditioning Techniques (ICT)

When it comes to elite performance, every second counts—and so does every recovery. Despite how essential blood flow is to healing, most physical therapists receive less than four hours of vascular training during their entire three-year DPT program. That’s a critical gap in care for athletes who depend on rapid, effective recovery to stay at the top of their game.

Our solution? Ischemic Conditioning Techniques (ICT).

ICT is a patented, hands-on method that teaches practitioners how to precisely manipulate the vascular system through brief and targeted bouts of blood flow restriction (BFR). This enhances oxygen delivery, accelerates tissue repair, and improves performance outcomes—without the need for high-intensity loading or invasive interventions.

Whether you're on the sidelines or in the clinic, ICT equips you to:

  • Speed up recovery times post-injury or surgery
  • Reduce inflammation and optimize healing at the microvascular level
  • Support safe return-to-play protocols
  • Provide game-day interventions that improve performance and resilience

We're already working with top-tier athletes, sports medicine teams, and rehab professionals who are seeing results that traditional methods alone can’t deliver.

ICT isn’t just a technique—it’s the future of athletic recovery.
Bring it to your team, your practice, and your field—and help your athletes finally feel better, faster.

What are Physical Therapists saying about ICT?

"As a sports physical therapist working with professional athletes, I’m constantly looking for ways to accelerate recovery without compromising safety. Ischemic Conditioning Techniques (ICT) have completely changed the way I approach healing. Within just a few sessions, I saw dramatic improvements in tissue quality, pain reduction, and functional performance—even in complex cases. ICT allows me to treat the vascular system directly, something I was never taught in school but now consider essential to elite recovery. This is hands-down one of the most effective tools I’ve added to my practice in the last decade."

I’m Vinita Chandra Mody, a Physical Therapist (PT) with over 18 years of clinical experience and the founder of Stroma Physical Therapy, a thriving practice group in New York City that I’ve led for 13 years. I’m also the creator of Ischemic Conditioning Techniques (ICT), a manual Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) method designed to enhance tissue repair. In 2018, I presented the development of ICT in a TEDx talk, exploring the current medical research and its future potential in Physical Therapy.

I’ve developed a comprehensive online and in-person curriculum for ICT. This program is designed to educate and train practitioners on using ICT to accelerate healing for a variety of injuries. I especially enjoy training my team in this technique during live, in-person labs and look forward to helping you advance your skills and career with thoughtful instruction.
